“Filing for office was an exciting new experience. As a newcomer to politics, I was fortunate to have my longtime good friend, and current High Sheriff, David Croft to show me the ropes. We started our day, with a cup of coffee to energize ourselves before walking over to the New Hampshire State House where we met former Concord mayor, Jim Bouley. It was nice chatting with Jim-although this was my first time meeting him, as it so happens his father Dick Bouley taught one of my first courses at NHTI, a class on government I took while working for David Croft, my then sergeant at Boscawen police department. I also had the good fortune to speak with State Senator Tara Reardon. Sheriff Croft and I support Karen Liot Hill, Executive Counselor, who also filed Wednesday (see picture below). We then had a very nice conversation with the incumbent Sheriffs from Rockingham, Belknap, Hillsborough and Strafford counties. I successfully submitted the required documentation to the New Hampshire secretary of State, Bill Gardner. As of Wednesday June 3rd I am officially a candidate for Merrimack County Sheriff.” -Pete
